Jamie Baum Quartet
“Baum is that rare double-threat: a musician who can play and write equally well.” (Jazziz)

New York City jazz flutist and composer, Sunnyside Records artist and 2014 Guggenheim Fellow, Jamie Baum returns to the Bach after releasing her highly acclaimed album, What Times Are These, (2024). The album received the highly-coveted-yet-infrequently-bestowed five-star review in DownBeat which Bill Moyers’ called a “a masterpiece of sound and spirit.” Internationally recognized as one of the top jazz flutists and listed in DownBeat Critics Polls annually since ’99, Jamie has worked/recorded with several renowned jazz artists ranging from Randy Brecker, Paul Motian, Roy Hargrove, Tom Harrell, John Abercrombie and Kenny Barron to Dave Douglas, Fred Hersch, and Kenny Werner. The quartet performs a mix of originals and uniquely arranged standards with highlights including Lennon & McCartney’s “Little Help From My Friends,” Carla Bley’s “Lawns,” “Fille De Kilimanjaro” by Miles Davis and “Eighty-One” by Ron Carter. Baum has also been nominated 13 times as “Best Flutist” by the Jazz Journalists Association.
